5 Sustainable Maxi Dresses to Add to Your Closet

5 Sustainable Maxi Dresses to Add to Your Closet

The older sister of the mini dress or the younger sister of the gown? Maxi dresses are the middle ground of dress world. I actually looked up the history of the term “maxi dress” because I’m nerdy like that. I was also kind of confused because women have historically always worn long dresses, so why are they randomly called maxi’s now. Well, It all started with skirts. Maxi skirts were seen in Oscar de la Renta’s 1970’s collections as an alternative to the mini skirt. From there dresses that were featured in Doctor Zhivago were called “maxi dresses” and became really popular. These five looks are different styles of maxis.
This maxi dress is styled for someone full of casual coolness. The styling is practical and the color palette has lots of blacks. But!!! The patterns are interesting because I can’t resist a cool pattern.
