Spring has officially sprung, and warm weather will be on the way. That means sustainable spring clothes, obviously. I’ve done florals, and dresses, so I’m moving down the line to shorts. Below are 6 pairs of shorts, with complimenting outfits that span all different occasions, from work to the beach, and formal to casual, and fabrics- warmer wools, to linen and cotton. At the bottom, and top there are extra looks that mix and match pieces from the 6 primary looks because as we all know, nothing should ever be only worn once.

First up! Shorts from Good Krama, these shorts are wonderful for pretty much most occasions. They are made of cotton so they are light enough for a casual day running errands in the heat, but dressy enough for more formal occasions. This look is quirky, maybe it could be called fashion-forward (but I really don’t know what that means.)
Ethically in the U.S. with a production process that runs on renewable energy.
This look features Blond Gone Rouge shorts. It’s totally formal but fun the shorts are long enough to be appropriate everywhere. No snooty looks from anyone. The shorts are classy, sophisticated, and elegant (+sustainable). All qualities that I never thought I’d describe shorts with.
Made with organic cotton and manufactured in London.
Beach ready? Me too. This outfit is perfect for pairing with a bathing suit and heading down the boardwalk to the ocean or prepping for a day at the pool. The shorts are from Tomcsanyi and are a blend of polyester and viscose.

Shorts that are good all year long. These Bo Carter shorts can also be winter appropriate when paired with stockings as shown below. This outfit is perfect for a transitional outfit for Spring and Fall. Just layer up if it’s cold, and when warm take those layers off.

Bo Carter shorts
From 100% ethical pure wool from a special flock of 600 Shetland and Wensleydale rescue sheep. Considered industry waste, each animal would have been killed had they not been rescued. Instead, they are now lovingly cared for to stringently high welfare standards at their new home in North Yorkshire. For every rescue sheep wool garment sold Bo Carter donates a percentage of the profits back to ensure the flock continues to thrive.
Made ethically in Brescia, Italy with natural vegetable tanned leather.
Matt Nat bag

I’ve been amazed and inspired by all the activism in the country right now, so this look is a riff on my 15 Sustainable Tees for Your Next Protest post. Did you know that selling fur is banned in San Francisco now?! Anyway, rock these Re/Done jean shorts with any tee for a sweet go-to look.
