25 Sep Luxury and Sustainable Capsule Wardrobe
I’m so excited to share my collaboration with Luxiders Magazine! This all year capsule is for the glamorous, luxurious, sustainable fashionista. Who also obviously needs a capsule wardrobe, because having one would definitely help all of us streamline our lives a little more. The budget for this capsule is a range of $50-$500. There are 41 pieces in total. The capsule is definitely full of looks you can take from day to night as well as summer to winter.
When thinking about this capsule I stuck to brands that fit the Luxiders ethos. In short, these brands fuse the best of high-end luxury, and progressive independent design. All are investment pieces, made to last.
Brands
Alexandra K Tote– A brand redefining luxury vegan products. Alexandra K’s bags are made of “freedom leather” that is non-toxic, recyclable silicone material. Everything is produced one-at-a-time by ethically paid artisans in Poland.
Niko Ineko Crossbody– Niko Ineko uses vegan PU to craft all their bags. All their suppliers comply with stringent ethical standards so that no human or animal gets harmed in the making of the bag. I love this brand because their selection ranges from fun and funky to timeless.
Nemanti Heels, Loafers, Flats– Nemanti combines timeless, elegant Italian craftsmanship with vegan materials. All their shoes are luxurious and cruelty-free. Instead, they are made with innovative, sustainable, and vegan materials like apple-derived leather.
Veja Sneakers– Produced in a fair trade certified factory in Brazil, Veja is all about the ethical side of labor. They own and operate their own factory and source wild Brazilian rubber for their vegan shoes.
Love Sofie sandals– A vegan shoe brand that wants to keep you fashionable and comfortable. The sandals are made with eco-PU.
Wills Vegan Shoes– This brand bridges the gap between regular life and vegan products. They are PETA approved and carbon neutral.
Kilometre Paris Clutch– Upcycled French linen combined with ethical artisanal production. Kilometre Paris sources they fabric from vintage shops and hopes to inspire you to travel.
Fonnesbech Coat– This heritage brand is based in the Netherlands and sources organic materials in Europe.
Tomcsanyi Coat– Designed and produced in Budapest. They source sustainable materials and put emphasis on company CSR.
ALTIIR Jacket– It looks like vintage leather but it’s actually pineapple. These jackets are made with the most sustainable of materials, piñatex.
Chinti and Parker white cardigan– European sourced certified organic fabrics make up this brand’s trusty sweaters and basics.
Gabriela Hearst Jacket, Sweater– Made alpaca wool sourced from Gabriela’s own farm in Argentina. Everything is then ethically produced in Italy with the highest standards.
Aiayu Sweater and White Shirt– Organic production with natural materials. The sweater is from alpaca wool and the shirt is organic cotton.
Bo Carter Sweater– Zero waste production and wool sourced from a rescue sheep farm. What’s not to love!
M.i.h Jeans jeans and cardigan– M.i.h continues to move their brand in a sustainable direction. Half of their materials are now sustainably sourced and they have a plan in place to get that to 100% in the next decade.
Re/Done jeans– This company takes your old Levi’s and old Levi’s that have been lying around and makes them good as new. New styles, new jeans, new brand, but same Levi denim fabric.
Dagny Top– Classic and feminine is how I would describe Dagny. Their products are made with biodegradable dyes and they use GOTS certified organic cotton.
Bozena Jankowska Top, Skirt, patterned pants– Bozena Jankowska produces in London and makes everything to order so that there is as little waste as possible.
SDress Blue collar Top, white skirt, wide leg pants, red dress– SDress manufactures with as little waste as possible. The production process uses minimal water and zero toxins. A plus is that they’ve been certified by the world wildlife fund.
Dor Raw Luxury White Top, Crop top, Shorts– Slow fashion that’s focused on linen. Dor Raw Luxury works exclusively with eco-friendly natural Belgian linen.
The White Briefs Black Top– Committed to sustainable production through their shirts lifecycle. The White Briefs use GOTS certified organic cotton and produce in Sweden.
Marianna Déri Dress– Designed and manufactured in Germany, Marianna Déri sources her fabrics from Europe and uses organic pieces of cotton, and other natural materials.
Mes Demoiselles Striped Shirt– Woven and produced by ethical artisans in India who use traditional skills passed down over generations.
Skin Cami– Made from Pima cotton. Skin is a great eco-friendly option for basics.
Pamela Love necklace and earrings– Handmade in Pamela’s New York studio using eco-friendly materials like recycled silver.
Melissa Joy Manning Bracelet– Handcrafted in Melissa’s certified eco-refinery. Using the best in jewelry, recycled, sustainable, and ethically sourced.
Andy Wolf Eyewear– Made from sustainably produced acetate. They are designed and produced in Austria.
